Biography 
Mauree Gingrich was elected to represent Lebanon County’s 101st Legislative District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in November 2002.  She has earned a reputation as an intelligent, hardworking lawmaker, focused on the needs of her constituents and the citizens of Pennsylvania.
 
Gingrich's leadership and communication skills led to her being named Deputy Whip in 2007. Gingrich also represents Pennsylvania citizens on four legislative committees. They are Appropriations, where she serves as secretary; Aging and Older Adult Services, where she is minority chairman of the Subcommittee on Programs and Benefits; Health, where she chairs the Subcommittee on Healthcare; and the Tourism and Recreation Development Committee. In addition, Gingrich serves on the House Policy Committee's Subcommittee on Welfare Reform, and she is a member of the bipartisan Pennsylvania Local Government Commission.

Gingrich’s attention to business development, job creation and advancing the role of women has been a common thread throughout her lengthy career in public service. She is a member of the
Team Pennsylvania Ambassadors Council, an organization dedicated to attracting and retaining business in Pennsylvania. She is a founding member of the Lebanon County Commission for Women.
 
Before her election to statewide office, Gingrich served 12 years on the Palmyra Borough Council, including nine years as council president. She also previously served as a member of the Borough Planning Commission and as a Civil Service Commissioner. Gingrich has served on Board of the Lebanon Valley Chamber of Commerce, was a past chairman of the Leadership Lebanon Valley Board, and is a recipient of the Athena Award. This award is given annually by the Lebanon Valley Chamber in recognition of women in leadership roles in their community who encourage other women to achieve their potential. 
 
She is the former owner of Mature Market Concepts, a qualitative market research company focusing on the older adult consumer.
 
As a state legislator, some of Gingrich’s main priorities include: 

  • Creating a business climate that will attract and sustain high-quality jobs in the Lebanon Valley
  • Assessing the quality and funding of our education system
  • Addressing the challenging issues facing our escalating older population
  • Providing high-quality, affordable health care to people of all ages
  • Promoting inter-municipal cooperation in order to improve services while saving taxpayer dollars
  • Responsible management of land use, growth and development throughout the area 
  • Enhancing public safety

Gingrich lives in Palmyra with her husband. She has four children and five grandchildren.
