HARRISBURG – On Wednesday at the state Capitol, Rep. Mauree Gingrich (R-Lebanon), and Republican Caucus Chairwoman Sandra Major (R-Susquehanna/Wayne/Wyoming), co-hosted a delegation of Republican women who serve in the Maryland Legislature. HARRISBURG – Today, the House passed two child protection bills, sponsored by Rep. Mauree Gingrich (R-Lebanon), which would require ongoing training for mandated reporters of child abuse. The need for greater awareness and training was cited in a report by the Child Protection Task Force, created by the General Assembly to review state laws and procedures governing child protection and child abuse.

HARRISBURG – The Task Force on Child Protection, which was formed in the wake of the Sandusky child sexual abuse scandal, presented its report to the General Assembly this week. The report, which contains a number of recommendations for improving Pennsylvania’s child welfare system, also stresses the importance of prevention, lauding legislation by Rep. Mauree Gingrich (R-Lebanon), which would require child sexual abuse awareness to be taught in Pennsylvania schools.
